1. General Provisions
This Privacy Policy describes what data ChatGuard collects, uses, stores, and otherwise processes when providing its Telegram bot, web administration panel, and related chat moderation features.
2. What Data We Process
We process a limited amount of data necessary to operate the service.
2.1 Telegram User Data: Telegram user ID, username, first/last name, language/locale fields, Telegram account flags from APIs, last activity related data.
2.2 Administrator and Authentication Data: administrator Telegram ID/username, internal account identifier, authentication-related data, JWT and session/authorization technical data.
2.3 Chat and Group Data: Telegram chat ID, chat title/type, connection status, member count, owner and privileged role mappings.
2.4 Moderation-Related Data: incidents, sanctions (mute/temp/permanent ban), decisions, signals, overrides, processing history, free-text reasons/comments, technical metadata.
2.5 Welcome and Captcha Data: chat/user IDs, message IDs, captcha session status and expiration, expected captcha answer until completion/expiry.
2.6 Settings and Change Logs: user settings, chat settings, moderation filter settings, whitelist domains, automated rules/actions, change logs.
2.7 User Interface Data: user ID, chat ID, message ID, current screen, selected language.
2.8 Logs and Diagnostics: technical logs, API request data, error data, monitoring/security diagnostics, Telegram update metadata, admin/system actions.
3. Data We Process Temporarily
We may process data temporarily without long-term retention (e.g. message text in moderation pipeline, media metadata, flood counters, cache entries, Telegram Login Widget data for login verification).
4. Sources of Data
Telegram Platform/Bot API, Telegram Login Widget (or similar), chat owners/admins, chat participant actions, API requests, internal logging/monitoring/security systems.
5. Purposes of Processing
Moderation features, abuse detection, sanctioning, access/role management, service security, authentication/authorization, audit logging, interface support, diagnostics/monitoring, deduplication of events, legal compliance and protection of legitimate interests.
6. Legal Bases for Processing
Providing the service, legitimate interests (security/stability/audit/abuse prevention), legal obligations, and any other basis permitted by applicable law.
7. Data Sharing with Third Parties
Telegram Platform/Bot API, hosting/infrastructure providers, DB/cache/logging/monitoring/security vendors, technical contractors/vendors, authorities/other parties where required by law or needed to protect rights and legitimate interests.
8. Data Retention
We aim to store data no longer than necessary for stated purposes.
9. Deletion and Anonymization
We may delete/deactivate/restrict/anonymize categories of data based on internal rules, technical constraints, and applicable law.
10. Data Security
We implement reasonable legal, organizational, and technical measures against unauthorized or accidental access, modification, disclosure, destruction, or loss.
11. International Data Transfers
Depending on infrastructure, data may be processed or stored in different countries.
12. User Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, and information on processing.
